Turkey Vulture (Catharses aura) and Black Vultures (Coragyps stratus)

Whilst on a road trip in Texas, we came across these vultures feeding on this Wild Boar or Feral Hog carcass. Wild Boar have seen a massive increase in their population across America in recent years, with an estimated 6 million nationwide. Nearly half are believed to inhabit Texas. They were first introduced to North America by settlers from Spain. Roadkill like this Wild Boar form an essential part of the vultures diet and this carcass had attracted large numbers of both Turkey and Black Vultures, many were patiently waiting their turn to join the feast sitting in nearby trees,
